Scope and Content

The Local History Publications collection includes a wide variety of items related to Fort Worth, Tarrant County and the surrounding areas. Articles include advertising and promotional brochures, government publications, event programs, area guides and official reports. For example, the collection offers a souvenir program from the Fort Worth Diamond Jubilee (1923), Fort Worths Compiled traffic Ordinances (1937), square dancing instructions from Justin Boots (1946), the Miss Texas contestants handbook (1965), a history of Oakwood Cemetery (1970), and the first opening day program for The Ballpark in Arlington (1994). This collection continues to grow and the covers items from the early 20th century to the present.
