David Farmer Southwestern Art Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection was assembled by David Farmer. It consists of books and “ephemeral publications” [sic] on Southwestern Art. The collection has been kept in its original order, and the description of the materials provided by the donor has been maintained with the exception of Item 80, John Sloan, 1945, which was moved from Ephemeral Publications to the Core Collection of books because it is a hardback book, and contents of folders indicated with an asterisk (*). Series I, Core Collection, consists of an assemblage of books, periodicals, and exhibition catalogs related to Southwestern Art. Series II, Ephemeral Publications, consists of periodicals, and exhibition catalogs and literature. The collection measures 8 LF (6.33 LF books and 4 boxes). The date range of the collection is 1936-2007.

Biographical / Historical
David Farmer, PhD, retired from a career as a professor and administrator of rare book libraries. Prior to retirement, he was the Director of The DeGolyer Library at Southern Methodist University for sixteen years.
