Roy and Claribel Kendall Slides

Scope and Contents Note

The collection consists of 339 slides from the Eastern Star and Masonic gatherings the Kendalls attended. The gatherings were throughout the United States. The slides came in 11 slide boxes that each had detailed notations about the slides. These descriptions were photocopied and kept with the slides that were placed into protective sleeves. The slides date from 1957-1963 and measure 1.08 linear feet (1 box).

Biographical / Historical

Roy Kendall, a native of Fort Worth, was born in 1900. He was a member of the South Hills Masonic Lodge no. 1389 AF&AM and Connell Baptist Church. Mr. Kendall did shoe repair at Roy’s Shoe Shop. He passed away May 6, 1983 in Fort Worth, Texas.

His wife, Claribel Kendall, was born in Harrah, Oklahoma and moved to Fort Worth in 1926. Ms. Kendall was a retired employee in the Personal Loan Department of Fort Worth National Bank. Ms. Kendall was active with the South Hills Chapter 835 Order of the Eastern Star, and she was also a member of Connell Baptist Church. She passed away February 7, 1994 in Fort Worth, Texas.
