Scope and Contents

This collection consists of a single velvet-covered photo album, which contains individual photographs, tintypes, a postcard and an obituary card. Many of the photographs were taken at studios in Weatherford, Texas. Most images are unlabeled. Individuals, in addition to the Lansfords, identified in the album include Mrs. L. F. Patrick, Eugene Tucker, W.D. and Rose McGhee, and May Bell Gibson. Although the photographs are undated, they appear to date from the 1890s to the 191Os.

Biographical / Historical

Minis Lansford (alternately spelled Menace, Menis, and Minnis) was born in Tennessee in 1868 and moved to Fort Worth around 1886. He worked as a blacksmith for the T &amp P Railroad and later for the Fort Worth City Water Works. Mr. Lansford died in 1925 after falling from a tree. Mrs. Etta May Lansford was born in Alabama in 1874. The family lived at 1408 S. Henderson, Fort Worth, from at least 1910 to the late 1950s. Mrs. Lansford died in 1957.
