Biographical / Historical

The Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant is part of the Miss America Scholarship Pageant. Miss Texas started in 1936 and moved around the state, sponsored by local Jaycee clubs. It settled permanently in Fort Worth in 1962. The pageant was originally held at the Will Rogers Memorial Auditorium until moving to the Fort Worth/Tarrant County Convention Center.
