History

The Governor Thomas Hinckley Chapter was organized in Fort Worth on October 6, 1951 and chartered on April 9, 1952 in Austin, Texas. The chapter was named for Governor Thomas Hinckley, the Last Royal Governor of Plymouth Colony. The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century was organized in July 1915, during the meeting of the International Genealogical Congress at the Panama Exposition, to commemorate the heroic deeds of the founders of the Republic. The Texas chapter was organized on April 22, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas.
