This collection consists of the personal papers and genealogical research of Patricia Ann Chadwell Jackson.

Biographical / Historical

Pat Chadwell Jackson was born on August 4, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Pryor High School in Pryor, Oklahoma and graduated in 1958. In 1962, she received her B.A. and B.S. degree from Texas Woman's University. She was hired by the Fort Worth Public Library on June 11, 1962. She became head of the Southwest and Genealogy section in August 1963. She went back to school and received her M.L.S. in 1964 from Texas Woman's University. She remained head of the Genealogy and Local History Unit until 1987. She retired from the Library on November 30, 1989. She married Edwin Earl Jackson, Jr. on November 2, 1984. She died in Fort Worth on March 15, 1992, and her husband died on March 16, 1992.

The first series consists of documents, articles, and genealogical research. The second series consists of photographs, the majority which are unidentified.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The Library acquired the collection following Pat Jackson death. Paul Campbell and Ken Hopkins collected the personal papers and books from their house.

Separated Materials

The books were evaluated and added to the Genealogy collection.
