Biographical / Historical

Mildred Hickman Gillette was married to Vernon G. Gillette and born in Louisiana. She was very active in the community including chairwoman of the People and Their Environment (a Fort Worth Garden Club which educated youth on environmental issues), memberships in the Fort Worth Genealogical Society, Hon. Edward H. Tarrant Chapter U.S. Daughters of 1812, the Gov. Thomas Hinckley Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Mary Isham Keith Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, American Coloniests, and Magna Charta Dames. Mrs. Gillette died on May 6, 1985 and is buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
