The original collection consists of primarily Hispanic related magazines collected by Delsa Perez. A subsequent donation consists of materials used by Delsa Perez in her professional and volunteer activities. The extent of the collection is 6 boxes (3 linear feet).

Biographical / Historical

Delsa Perez attended Texas Wesleyan University, where she majored in Bilingual Specialization with a minor in Elementary Education. She has widely varied employment and volunteer experience. She has worked as a curriculum writer for United Centers on Cultural Awareness; as a project coordinator for Fort Worth Public Library’s ADELANTE project; served as President of Bonilla, Incorporated, a land development consultant group, and as a Tarrant County Criminal Courts Judge’s Bailiff. Delsa has volunteered with numerous community events, including Pioneer Days, Diez y Seis Fiesta, Tejano Onda Music Festival. She has also volunteered with Jim Lane and Louis Zapata’s City Council campaigns, and community organizations such as Main Street Fort Worth, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, League of United Latin American Citizens, Fort Worth Public Library, Code Blue Neighborhood Association, and the Fort Worth Independent School District Bilingual Department/IMAGE de Fort Worth in the Stepping Up/Escalando program.
